What is Dermaplaning?
Dermaplaning is a simple procedure that involves gently exfoliating the top layer of dead skin cells and fine vellus, commonly known as peach fuzz, from the face. It is typically performed using a specialized sterile surgical blade and is safe for most skin types. Regular dermaplaning can enhance your skin's overall appearance and promote a youthful glow.

What about hair regrowth?
If you are worried that shaving the hair on your face will cause it to grow back thicker, there is no cause for concern. The type of hair being removed is known as vellus hair. When removed, it should not grow back darker or courser after treatment. We do, however, recommend additional treatments every three to four weeks to help you maintain your results.

Who should avoid Dermaplaning?
Individuals with certain skin conditions, recent medication use, or other specific circumstances should avoid dermaplaning. These include those with active acne, sunburn, open wounds, or those taking isotretinoin (Accutane). Additionally, people with keloid or hypertrophic scarring, lupus, or active herpes simplex (cold sores) should also avoid dermaplaning

Benefits
One of the primary benefits of dermaplaning is it can deliver immediate results. This treatment can leave the skin smooth by removing dead skin and facial fuzz, creating a more even base for optimal makeup application. Removing dead skin cells also allows for deeper penetration of skincare products, thus helping you to achieve better results from expensive topical solutions. In addition, this gentle form of exfoliation can reduce the size of pores, acne scars, and fine lines while improving skin tone and your overall appearance, in turn enhancing your self-confidence
